Message app to replace iChat

where can i download the Message app I have on my iPad mini onto my iMac

iPod touch, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Messages was brought to the Mac as part of Mountain Lion (Mac OS X 10.8.x), so you would have to upgrade to Mountain Lion to get it now or wait for the release of OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Thank you. I find the Message App much better and also want it to 'sync' the iMac to the iPad mini.

as stated then to do what you wish in terms of getting the messager app and sync with icloud you need! go upgrade to latests osx version it don't work with 10.7.3
