Can the USB SuperDrive work on TV playing DVDs?
I want to use my USB SuperDrive to play DVDs n my tv. Will it work? Essentially I want to use it as a DVD player.

tv's with usb ports mostly have a very very limited list of what they support from the usb
most only support usb sticks with photos or videos on
some support a wifi dongle and that type of thing
usb is a digital serial interface and require software drivers in order to use devices
some drivers are pretty generic like the lised support features earlier those are build into the tv's software

The Apple USB SuperDrive only works with Macs without a built-in disc drive, so it won't work plugged to a TV. What you can do is to connect the Apple USB SuperDrive to the computer, and connect the computer to your TV. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5019
The Apple superdrive will not work as the TV does not recognise the player as a compatible device.
Use a dedicated DVD player connected to the TV using HDMI or analogue, they cost from £30 upwards.
