Wake from sleep in 10.8.5

It's no longer instant-on. It's pretty **** slow 😟.

Anybody else experiencing this?

I don't have this issue, which is strange because usually when Apple software sneezes, my computer gets the flu. I'm using a MacBook Pro though so maybe the issue only affects desktops - I've seen a few posts on forums regarding other iMacs and Mac minis. My guess is, that this is a glitch in the software causing a power issue. You can try resetting your SMC (System Management Controller), which is usually a quick fix to power issues - but my guess is that Apple will adress this issue shortly. Resetting your PRAM may also help, if the issue is non-power related.

I've tried combo update but that hasn't helped.

2012 27" iMac. Whenever I wake from sleep it take 10-15seconds for the display to turn on. Then no keystrokes are acknowledged in the password box, then the beach ball comes up and finally all the keystrokes are inputted at once and the log in happens aburpt.

never this bad before 10.8.5

The SMC reset didn't help. But I have something further to add. I have the wired keyboard, but Magic Mouse and Trackpad (wireless). It's these wireless peripherals that are taking about 10 seconds to re-connect; the keyboard is functional straight away and I can logon with no delay.

That said the iMac is still taking longer to wake in the first instance too.

Saw on some other threads issues with external drives and such. I turned my external BD drive off, and it seems to wake from sleep better now. Turned it back on and wake was slower, but not as bad as before (but I may not have waited for the BD drive to completely auto off?). Will see what happens in the morning. (if this is a fix, it still shouldn't be happening..)

Others with the issue - any external drives of any kind??

(I'm on an imac, btw, not a laptop)

i don't have any externals connected to my imac and i still experience slow wake from sleep mode....

i tried unpairing and repairing all my bluetooth devices and check/uncheck "allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer" and at first it seems like there was an improvement but alas it didn't work as it takes just as long to wake from sleep and the keyboard is unresponsive for the first 10 seconds after display turns on.

I wish i could go back to 10.8.4
