Q: When I try and start up my mac desktop the fan is really loud and the start up noise and white apple screen start but after a few seconds the mac turns itself off and goes to a black screen? Help?

Try running the Apple Hardware Test, as per > Using Apple Hardware Test

If the Hardware Test will not run, then go to > Apple - Find Locations, click the Service link and setup an appointment at your Apple Store or AASP.
