Q: my ipad is locked with a notification saying the icloud hasn't been backed up in 6 weeks. I have connected it to itunes to back it up but the message won't go off my screen and nothing will work on the ipad. What can i do to get this message off?

Welcome to the Apple Community.

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
