I was attempting to load about 1,300 Raw CR2 images from a compact card onto my iMAC only to the images suddenly deleted. I am using a compact card reader attached through a usb port and loading the photos in Photoshop Bridge CS6. This time about half of my images loaded before the program stalled and then when I attempted to exit all the images were deleted. Suggestions welcomed.

How does this involve iPhoto? Sounds like either a Bridge problem or a system issues. Ask at the Adobe Bridge forum.

Always copy the images off the card to a safe area before attempting to access them. This way if something like this occurs you still have copies of the images.
There are programs out there that might be able to recover the images if they are truly lost. For the best possibility of success you have to stop accessing the card. Do a web search for possible programs.
