iPod Touch stuck in Vimeo mode.

I hope someone is able to help me. I was viewing a video in vimeo in my iPod Touch and now I can't get out of the vimeo program. I did not have a vimeo account while I was viewing the video. Somehow, now I'm stuck in the vimeo in my iPod Touch and I've tried to push the middle button of the iPod Touch to get out but it won't respond. I have also push the shut off button of my iPod Touch and even that doesn't respond. Oh Help!!! Tomorrow I need my iPod Touch first thing in the morning to head to the gym and unfortunately, I can't get the vimeo program off my iPod Touch to listen to music. Please help me!
