Q: I cannot activate my Ipad2 after a restore

Yesterday my Ipad told me I needed to connect to Itunes and restore (even though it seemed to be working fine). I backed it up, updated the software on it (and on Itunes) and then did a restore. Now it will not activate. I have turned it all the way off and back on, I have connected it to Itunes in recovery mode, but still no activation. Can anyone help me? I am out of ideas and I NEED my Ipad for work tomorrow!

Thanks in advance...

In what way is it not activating? Are you getting any error messages? The iPad will not see your WiFi network? Have you tried activating using iTunes? If you did, did you try disabling your firewall and antivirus software?

    Hi,

The first error message says that the server is unavailable. When I put the IPad in recovery mode, it goes all the way through the process and then says sorry we are unable to activate please try again or contact support (paraphrased)

I took it to best buy last night and they said there is nothing wrong with the Ipad, software is up to date, nothing they did worked either. So frustrating...I only did the restore because it told me I had to. Seemed to be working fine except for that. The only problem it seemed to be having was in connecting in the cellular mode.

Thanks for taking time to respond,

    Madeleine

Oh, and it see's my wifi network and connects with no problem. I did not try disabling my antivirus software or firewall. I will try that, if I can figure out how to do that.

Take a look at this support article and see if something in here helps. You answered the one question that I was looking to see and that was the message about the activation server not being available. This kb article deals with that issue.
