Q: 8GB iPOD iOS upgrade?

I recentlly inherited a restored 8GB iPOD mdl# MA623LL with iOS 1.1.5. I went out and bought an iRig guitar adapter, but appears the AmpliTube app requires a higher iOS. can I upgrade or do I have to return my new toy?

If you have iOS 1.x currently, you CAN update it to 3.1.3. However, that "AmpliTube" app probably requires a later version of iOS as well as faster hardware. The 1st gen iPod touch is like the original iPhone, and it is quite slow compared the current models.

If you DO want to upgrade to iOS 3.1 (or "iPhone OS 3.1" as it was called back then), it's not a free download for iPod touch. It costs $4.95.
