I recently noticed after I added some more titles to
my IPOD that the sound is distorted over the
headphone jack. Music is sort of wobbely and the
vocals are strangely muted.
It does not happen if I play songs over my laptops
Soundcard
Independen of what I connect to the headphone jack
the result is the same. I refreshed, restored, reset
and updated the IPod already several times and
whatever I put on the IPOD I have this distorted
sound over the headphone jack.
Seems to be a problem with the internal amplifier.
Anybody made similar experiences and how much would
it be to repair. IPOD is 1,5 years old but hardly
used

I have a very similar problem with my iPod Mini,
The playback sound is distorted, but it seems as if the distortion is confined to one or more of the tracks within the recording. For example on the music I was listening to the backing vocals and instruments remained perfectly clear, however the lead singer sounded like he was in another room - his singing was barely audible and occasionally became badly distorted.
I've done the obvious things like changing earphones, checking the earphone jack, testing out different settings on the equaliser, resetting the iPod, installing the latest software, trying different music formats etc, but with no effect.
The iPod is about 18 months old, but little used except for the last 2-3 months.
Any Ideas on what the problem is, and how I might resolve it would be gratefully received.
Thanks
