Nano bluetooth - can't find any devices

I have a new Nano 7thG and am trying to pair it with Jam speakers and/or my Plantronic headset. I was able to use my andriod phone to pair to the nano, but the nano says the phone is turned off - can't see it. I have reset using the reset button on the settings page, no luck. I have tried to hold down the hold key, the screen darkens but the apple never appears. Help???

I have been using my Nano via bluetooth to connect to a Jam Classic speaker for more than a year. One day I set it up, turned on Ipod, turned out speaker. Speaker has a on tone and then another tone when it reads the Ipod. Now it does both but the ipod continues to have the message

Jam Plus

Not connected

now discoverable.

continues to search as others have mentioned. I've tried everything mention. Something has gone wrong on the Ipod!

Thanks. I found the correct instructions on the reset (there are incorrect instructions on about.com).

I still cannot connect to any bluetooth devices. I have gone over the instructions for both the Jam speaker and the Plantronic headset. My andriod phone can connect to both, so they work and I know how to connect them. When I turn on the bluetooth on the nano, it says "Now Discoverable" and seems to get stuck searching. I have tried everything - I bought this because it has bluetooth, now I can't use it and I am past the return date. What now?
