Q: Cannot connect to Windows XP Server via 10.8?

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but I have not been able to find the exact problem and definitely not a solution.

CMD+K on an ML10.8 computer to a Windows XP computer using SMB: When I add the Username and Password, it just shakes the prompt box as if I were putting the wrong info.

Now, on my 10.7 machine, it connects just fine.

Is there a way around this?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Yeah. This article is teaching me how to connect, which I know how. I work with 30+ Mac machines all over the company. Every one can sonnect via CMD+K or browsing and finding the server that way. Everyone except the machines running ML10.8.

This is definitely a problem with ML10.8. I'm looking to get that fixed or a work around it.
