OS X Update 10.8.5 and Apple Magic Mouse

After downloading the OS X Update 10.8.5 on my IMac, the scrolling functions on my Magic Mouse and the page swipe functions no longer work. When I go to system preferences to try to enable these options, it is not available at all. These scrolling and swipe functions are very useful and I would like to know how to enable them once again in 10.8.5. Please let me know how to do it. Thanks!

It sounds like the gestures have been disabled or de selected. I would double check in the System Preferences that they are enabled.

To see how to perform gestures, customize how gestures work, and set options for your trackpad or mouse, open Trackpad or Mouse preferences.
