sync iphone to outlook calendar

every single time i plug my iphone into the dock and it syncs - it never ever syncs the iPhone calendar to my Outlook calendar on my desktop.

I always have to then remember to click on the INFO tab, scroll to the bottom and click on the Advanced checkbox to "replace info on the iphone" with my desktop Outlook calendar...and then have to resync the whole iPhone again.

surely, there must be a much easier way to automatically do this....so the iphone would ALWAYs be updated with the desktop Outlook calendar...

or...is this just a way the macworld gets back at a windows user?

Hello JoeMama1391,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I found this article that I feel will be helpful in troubleshooting the issue you are having with Outlook syncing information to your phone.

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting contact and calendar syncing via USB on Windows

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1692

Here is step 1 from the article to get you started:

Reset Sync History

If you find that some of your data syncs to your device but you see an unexpected number of changes or modifications, you may need to reset your sync history. This causes iTunes to prompt to Merge or Replace information on the device when you next attempt to sync your information. To reset your Sync History:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
  3. Click the Devices tab.
  4. Click the Reset Sync History button.

If the issue continues and you know all of the data is on the computer:

  1. Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
  2. Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
  4. Click Apply.

If the issue continues and you know all the data is on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

  1. Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
  2. Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
  3. Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
  5. Click Apply.

All the very best,

Sterling

Nope. Nothing here helped -as I continue to enter appointments on my desktop computer in Outlook, then sync over iTunes to my iPhone - and it doesn't work.

Nothing that I enter in Outlook as a new appointment ever gets moved over to the Calendar on the iPhone UNLESS I force the update using the "replace info on the iPhone..." button in the Advanced area.

Why? is there NOT a way to force this to happen automatically....

This is a **** off...
