Lost my hard drive. How to transfer from IPOD to MacBook -OR!- Match?

I lost my entire harddrive on my W7 PC. I have most (but not all) of my music on my iPod. I just purchased a MacBook Pro, and iPhone 5, and subscribed to iTunes Match. QUESTION: How can I transfer all the songs on my iPod, from the ipod up into iTunes Match? In order to get those songs on ITunes in the new MacBook. Or is there a better way? Perhaps it is better to try and rip the songs off the iPod into iTunes and then up to iTunes Match??

(Point of note - not all of these songs that I lost were from CD's, or from iTunes purchases. Yes, many of them came from YouTube. I mention it so as to save any misdirection people might offer as a solution) Thank You!

match will not help. if its an ipod touch you can use it, if its an older ipod classic see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1478?viewlocale=en_US

Turn off iTunes Match.

To recover your music from your iPod, see this...

Then backup your hard drive. If you attach an external drive, you can simply turn on Time Machine.

After it is backed up, turn on iTunes Match.

FYI: Neither of these will get the music off the iPod (or iPod touch).

It moves music from one computer to another.

Currently, the original posted does not have music on any computer.

You cannot access the music on the iPod using those instructions.
