Volume down button isn't working?

I have the iPod nano 16GB. The volume slider on the touch screen is fine, but I can't turn the volume down from the button on the side of the iPod. The volume up button and the play/pause button are working fine. When I try to press it, it feels stuck. Is there anything I can do to fix it, or should I bring it to an apple store? The closest one is approximately 2 hours away, so I'd rather not, but if I have to, I will...

Hey Mr. Death

Thanks for the question. I understand that your iPod nano seems to have a hardware issue with the volume down button. Because you mentioned the closest Apple Retail Store is quite a ways away, I wanted to provide you with this resource, which explains alternative ways to obtain service:

Apple - Support - Service Answer Center

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/

How do I obtain service for my iPod?

The iPod support site has troubleshooting articles to help you solve your iPod issue. If you have reviewed those articles and still need service for your iPod, you can contact Apple. You can also take your iPod to your local Apple Authorized Service Provider. Note: There may be a fee for diagnostic service.

Thanks,

Matt M.
