how do I share files between profiles on my Macbook Pro. 10.8.4 I have moved the files to the public folder, shared the folder and enabled sharing in system preferences. however, i still cannot access the files from my other profile. Please help!

You should not need File Sharing at all for what you describe.
Everyone can already read your Public folder.
What happens when you open the Public folder while logged in as a different user?
Can you view the contents?
You should not be be to edit the files or write to that folder.
Well I tried to move a folder that contains music into my public folder, I set the parameters to "read + write" However, when I log in on another profile, I cannot view the folder i put in there. Essentially, I have music files on my profile that i would like to get on my wifes. I need to be able to open this folder and move these files to her profile as well as mine.
Try using /Users/Shared/
However, if you drag a folder out of your home, it will retain the permissions set on the folder unless you change them.
