How can I change the alternative apple ID in iCloud?

you cant, you in the wrong area. In icloud > mail you only can change alias (http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2622). So if your trying to change your alternative apple id you need to go to http://appleid.apple.com > manage apple id > sign in and under alternative email choose edit. Once done save.

Im also having this problem, I did what you said and got rid of it online however on my phone its still listed and greyed out, iv reset the phone but it wont go.

Also the messages that get sent from this mail, are they stored anywhere like on the email account they are being sent from?

the only time it is greyed out is when you are in settings > icloud > account. you need to go to tap on done then tap delete account. once finished sign back in with primary apple id.

There is no option to edit the alternate apple id.

all that does is change the alternate email address which is a diff issue then an alternate apple ID

Since kewl man posted that response over a year and an half ago, I don't think your reply is very timely....

But bottom line, you cannot change an "Alternate" Apple ID as an Alternate Apple ID is invariably an @me.com address.
