iPod Shuffle

I am having iPod Shuffle , i got it from my friend a few days back and right now i am not able to sync it to iTunes and am not able to add songs to iPod. I tried downloading latest iTunes also but its still not working and it is giving me some error (-69). The error exactly reads " The i Pod can not be synced. An Unknown error occured(-69).

Can someone please help me with this????
