The amount of pitchbend is almost always a setting on the software instrument itself, independent of the value of the messages. If pitchbend was recorded when the instrument was set to -1/+1 semitones, it will sound "all over the place" if the software instruments' PB range is set to -2/+2 or -7/7 or -12/36 even. So you have to set the right interval on the instrument.

Afaik the mono mode has nothing to do with pitch bend. pitch anomalies could stem from Portamento or Glide settings on the instrument(s) themselves, which do not have/need corresponding MIDI messages. Chances are also, that there's a MIDI message somewhere at the start of your MIDI file(s) that invokes mono mode (MIDI CC 126). Open the Event List (shortcut: E) to check that, and optionally delete it.
