Q: I bought a song for .69 and it took off more than that. I think five cents more. I was not aware that I had to pay any extra than .69. Why didn't it tell me that before purchasing it?

If you are in the US then you need to add on your state's sales tax to the listed prices of items in the store - would that equal 5 cents?

When you buy something from Wal-Mart does the sign have the price with tax included? No, it doesn't, and neither does iTunes.

I'm in the UK so I don't know how things work in the US with listed prices and the applying of a state's sales tax, but it might be clearer if there was at least a comment next to the price in the store, or during the purchase process, to say that your state's sales tax will be applied
