Is there a good reason to upgrade iPhoto 6?

Look over the feature set of iPhoto 11, if there are features you want and or need then perform the upgrade. IMHO it's alway s wise to keep your apps up-to-date, while I don't use iPhoto (I use Aperture instead) I've found this leads to having a very stable system.

The only good reason is that the upgraded version has features you want to use - only you can make that decision

As to iPhoto '11 horor stories, they are just that iPhoto '11 is just fine and very stable - every new software release for every computer (like iPhoto was over two years ago) brings a rash of "horror stories"

If you are happy then why upgrade? If there are new features that you want then you should upgrade

PS that being said I also believe in keeping my system up to date and personally think it is the best plan - but that too is a personal decision

Look far enough back and you'll get prtty much the same horror stories about iPhoto 6, 5 and so on.

There is one seriously compelling reason to upgrade to iPhoto 11: full non-destructive editing.

Another reason to upgrade is iCloud and Photo Stream. A terrific way to import all photos taken with an iPhone or iPad automatically into your iPhoto Library.
