In column view, after I attach a colour label to a folder or file and then arrange by label I cannot revert to arrange by name without removing the label. Other views allow me to rearrange with colour labels.

What do you have in the Sort By option - is that set to name?
Try arrange by none and sort by name.
Eric, thanks for reply. I have to respond with a newbie type question. I see an arrange drop down menu, but where is the sort option you mention? Is it another menu that I haven't discovered yet.
Have you tried to click on the top bar of the name column to sort by name, either ascending or descending?
Thanks Old Toad. I don't see an option for ascending or descending name order. However, I have noticed that it works for evry other option in the Arrange menu (Kind, Application, Date added etc.) but not Name.
Finder/View/Show View Options (command - J).
When you click on bar at the top of the Name column it will toggle from ascending to descenting or vise versa. Same with the Date and other columns.
