Email stuck in trash !

Posted on behalf of Beth:

Hi all,

was reading this thread to see if it would help my problem. I have in item in my Mail trash folder. At least Mail seems to think so, it has a '1' beside it.But when I poen that folder it's empty. Boy, that '1' is annoying. Have tried deleting the appropriate mbox and relaunching mail but no joy. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Ric, THANKS so much, some loverly people out there 🙂 Actually, I had done as you suggest, restarted MAIL, no joy, ditched the deleted mbox again, restarted, no, backed up all my mail (yawn) and was about to ditch all mboxes about 10 minutes ago, when I read about preferences and changing mailbox behaviour to empty trash on Quit. Voila! Except I am not happy with that as I like to keep mail in the trash for a while "just in case". Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time.
