If you forgot your iPod password, how do you get it back without losing data?

On my iPod touch 5th Generation, I created a password that was supposed to be "smile", but I guess I typed it wrong... Twice...? Anyway, I don't know how to fix it and I can't do the reboot thing because I have valuable notes, pictures, and data on my iPod that I can't download on my computer. So... I need a way to fix it without deleting everything off of my iPod. Please Help!!!!

If you mean a passcode, there is no way to recover it.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
