Why can't I empty my trash?

Hi:

It doesn't matter if I'm using empty secure or not, the documents I try to erase, just hang, and when I try to erase them again, they go into a queue. They have been hanging there for 24 hours now. It's not like the file is big either. It's less than 10 mb.

Which reminds me. Does anyone else have the same problem of when you empty trash, securely, it takes 2 days+ to delete 50 or so folders (which they say contains 4-5000 items) and the files get erased maybe 10 per minute.
