Purchased 10gb more iCloud storage yesterday. My iPad as of today has not yet updated with the additional storage space. Must I do something further?

You might need to contact the Apple online store and ask them to confirm that the purchase went through, and if so, when you can expect to see the additional storage. (If they try to charge you for a support call for this, ask to talk to a supervisor as you aren't asking for support, you are only asking when you will receive what you paid for.)
