preorder shows purchased cannot download

I made a preorder for a music album the other day on my iphone and it showed "preordered". Today was the day of the release and it shows purchased but will not download on Iphone or Mac. on my mac I wen to the purchase history it does not show up. I checked my account and went to the "invoice" purchase history and does not show up. If I go to that album on the itunes store it shows purchased and I cannot download. I have cleared the ituns stor cache, logged in and out several times but cannot downloade the item!!! I even purchased a different unrelated song today to test it out and there was not problems.. current version of ios and current version mountain lion/ itunes for mac
