Q: Soundtrack Crashes 'Scanning Audio Units'
First off, I gotta say that despite it's bad rep for being buggy, I love Soundtrack Pro and, for the most part, it's been a great tool for me. I even used it to do the sound for my last feature length documentary so I say this with real love....I'm scared that my days working with STP3 may be over.
Here's the issue: As of late, STP3 has been crashing immediately upon startup during the 'scanning audio units' phase. I have researched the issue and have done the following to rectify the issue:
1) Trashed Preferences
2) Deleted Audio Unit Plug-ins
3) Removed Receipts and uninstalled STP3 and Compressor using FCS Remover
4) Fresh Install
5) Installed Latest Pro Application Update
but...no dice. STP3 may open once or twice after all of that but as soon as I try to open a .stmp project file, it'll stall and crash. Then, upon opening STP3 again, it goes thru the same 'scanning audio units' hubbub and crashes.
I really don't want to move to Adobe Audition and deal with learning an entirely new piece of software so is there anyone out there who can please help?
HELP!
