Home made movie to Ipad

I made a movie on movie maker (PC). It was 70Mb, so I converted it to an mp4 thinking this will make it easy to get onto my iPad. I drag the movie.mp4 into iTunes while my iPad is plugged in to my PC. The movie plays in iTunes, but it doesn't appear on my iPad (oh please when is my Samsung arriving). I unplug and replug my iPad into my PC, itunes see's my iPad each time, but my movie never appears on my iPad. So much for intuitiveness - but I guess I'm just dumb. How to I play my home made 60 second mp4 file on my iPad?
