when can I download iOS 7
when can I download iOS 7
James, I couldn't give a stuff what you think. I've been an IT systems engineer for 14+ years! This s***t happens every year with Apple, EVERY year without fail, with the same pathetic excuses!
Started at 6PM UK to upgrade my iPad 2 and iPhone 4, still not managed to even download an image. If this happened every time Microsoft's updates came about, they wouldn't be in business for very long! Do you have any idea of the number of simultatneous downloads their servers cater for? No? then try keeping your opinion to yourself.
As for checking the location of my head, you check yours first. When I need to be advised if I sound like I work in IT, especially from you, I'll take myself outside with a 12 gauge!Apple are the best in every respect and NEVER put a foot wrong!
I was getting the "You do not have permission to access the requested resource' message too and panicked! After 4/5 times of trying, it vanished and is now downloading. I think it's a simple case of too many people downloading the update. Let's not forget that hundreds of thousands of people (maybe more?) all over the world are trying to download at the same time.
Good luck with it and try to be patient! 🙂
iphone, 45 minutes tryng and 18 minutes when I finally acces the apple's servers
ipad, 30 minutes for the servers and 15 minutes installing
Rgr that, just tried again, took 6 minutes to download (and I'm on a 100MBPs WAN line) & abut 10 minutes to install :-)
It rebooted, and had all the data intact without my doing a Manual Restore...go figure.
Cant get the Control Center to show, no matter how hard I swipe up...
I've downloaded mine in about 20 minutes, but can't activate my iPhone
I wish. I'm on 120Mb in UK with VM. I'm begining to think that all iOS updates are pulled from the US, instead of regional. For UK and R.o.I that would be Ireland. Without any analysis though, I don't know for sure.
Right, this is buggy as f**k and I'm now getting "timed out|" errors everytime it starts downloading. I reckon it's due to sheer volume of traffic. This is a monumental pain in the arse as I'm having to restart it over and over again. Booooooooooooring!!! ðŸ˜
Yeah, their data centers are taking a hammering. I can understand that, what infuriates me is that it happens every year and every year we hear the same excusses about not anticipating the volume etc etc. Only a few months back Apple released the numbers of how many people were using which version of iOS, so they know how many theoretical connections they would have to deal with.
I'd expect their data centers would be on the best bandwidth available with a contention ratio of probably 1:1, the disc systems are prob enterprise SSD technology (way different from what me or you but for our desktops). So really there shouldn't be this much aggro, especially if the the updates are pulled from regional data centers.
This is horsesh1t. It's now saying that it's going to take 6+ hours and crashing repeatedly. Can't even go to bed knowing that it'll be done by the morning. ðŸ˜
The solution is:
connect your iphone to your Itunes through usb.
When you click on update. when it prompt saying "you don not have permission"..Close the error popup window.
Click on sync. Once the sync is completed . Then click on update.
It works.. Trust me...
Thanks Josh, but as I posted above, if I refresh and keep trying, it does start downloading. But then I get a "timed out error" and it crashes. Hopeless.
23:50 GMT. Just got both iPhone & iPad upgraded. 5 hours and 50 minutes!
That kind of Language is not need.
Many do not understand why they cannot get the Download.
on other forums, I explained the number of people trying the download, and in some cases trying to re activate their phones.
People the understand the situation.
Many I have suggested to leave it for a few days until the buzz dies down
Here in Ireland,20.00 hours download the iPhone in 20 Minutes and the iPad took 50 Mins.
However, the iPhone became diabled and had to restore to factory settings and then reactivate.
That was fun!!!
Both are now up and running.
Looks better on iPad
