how do I synch gmail calendar to icloud
I have a Google calendar (and contacts) that I synch with my iPhone but for some reason this info does not show up in iCloud. Is there a way to get this info to show up in iCloud as well?

iCloud only syncs data in your iCloud account, not from external sources such as Google. The easiest thing to do is to just add your Google contacts and calendar to your iOS devices and continue to use Google to sync them (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0Jj0KFgbYI#t=14).
