I have been unable to sync my photos from my Aperture Library to my ipad/iphone through itunes. I had called apple, they said I needed to

go into preferences / previews and check the box that says allow use by other applications but I have no such option, mine says "share previews

with iLife & iWork. Has anyone else had this problem??

Thanks,

Denise

You need to enable these options:

What do you see in iTunes in the Photos tab? DOn't you see your Aperture library there? Or are projects missing from the list of projects.

    Thanks for trying to help!

Here is the message I get when trying to sync ( I changed the options to what you recommended and get the same answer) - itunes could not sync photos to the ipad "_______" because your Aperture Library could not be found. Open the preferences window in Aperture to enable the preference to share previews with other applications.

Denise, after enabling the sharing option force the creation of previews. Select all photos that you want to share and use the command "Photos > Update Previews".

Then quit Aperture and log off and on again, to make Aperture update the preferences file. Only then try to launch iTunes again.

"_______" because your Aperture Library could not be found.

Where is your Aperture library located? Is it on your internal system drive or on an external volume?

What is your Aperture version and MacOS X version?

I am having the same problem. The previews option in Aperture is not available for Photo Stream. My Aperture Library is on my Mac. Aperture version 3.4.5 and the OS X 10.8.5
