I am receiving the same error message on both my iPhone4s and my iPad2. Is anyone else receiving this error?
I had the same problem. Try continuously, it will be download. I have solved!
I was thinking about that
It happened to me also but it is installed successfully in the second attempt.
Already seeing preparing for update, and ............ failed. Drove me crazy!
For such a company who values users experiences, and having over a year to prepare for this day, should have thought outside of the box to enable the millions of session hits by way of staggering time zones or binding additional servers.
A great update gets a poor rating for sure.
phone 5 installed after 2nd attempt, ipad 4 however still no luck, 20 attemts so far, tried earlier to install with itunes and itunes didnt even register that there was an update even available. as of this post itunes update 11.1 needed to be installed befor it can update the ipad to ios 7. will restart the comp and see if it works
I am trying from the newest iTunes 11... seems to be working (knock on wood) ...

Send your a idea to Apple Feedback -> http://www.apple.com/feedback
Install 11.1 directly from apple.com in your safari browser
So, it's Apple fault that the actual INTERNET (not their servers, but the actual Internet) isn't able to handle the traffic?
That's like blaming Disney World because Interstate 4 has a lot of traffic.
Took me 12 tries, but I am finally installing...it's been 32 minutes and I am past halfway through the install process. iPod touch 5G (32GB), install was 713 mb, and OTA with a 20ish MB WiFi speed.
you might want to check your connection speed, i have a 40mb wifi speed and it took me about 3 min to download and install on my ipad 4, and about 5 min on my iphone 5
not sure if this will help you guys. I started downloading over wifi directly on the phone via the OTA update, when i saw it was going to take a while i rebooted my phone as i couldn't stop it any other way so i can do it from my laptop. I went to the laptop to realize that the update was not available yet. I came back to the phone started OTA again but it would keep telling me An error occurred downloading iOS 7 over and over.
this is what i did to stop the error, i killed all running processes "including the settings app" reset my phone by pressing the sleep and home buttons. Started the phone and try again OTA , i did not get the error again and is currently downloading. so unless it fails again due to the amount of ppl downloading it this helped me start the update again properly after a failure.
I have a iphone 4s.I have downloaded the update. I clicked to install it I accepted the user agreement. Now it says verifying software. And then after a min or so it says software update unavailable try again later. My question is did it either downloaded incorrectly or just the server is busy. Has anyone else had this problem?
You guys just need to be patient and try again later.
It has done the same thing for me.
And it's finally downloading.
Enjoy
