iTunes 11.1 podcast section wont let me remove old episodes list

I just upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and noticed the Podcast section changed, I had to resubscribed to all the podcast I listen to and then I noticed, I am unable to delete the listing of the old episodes, Once you subscribe, It shows not only the episodes currently downloaded, But a listing of all the old episodes too. I want to be able to remove the listings for the old episodes so that only the downloaded ones are showing, I used to be able to do that with iTunes 11.0, But now they changed it where you can no longer delete them from showing.

iPod touch, Windows 7

Same issue.

No way that I've found to NOT show the old episodes

Previous versions of iTunes would allow deletion of this information from the list.

Yeah, When you right click on a podcast, The only option you see is Show Old Episodes, Even though its showing the old episodes.

Same problem here. Episodes remain listed but with an icon to download. Only way to remove the list of non-downloaded episodes is to Unsubscribe from the Podcast. But if I do that, iTunes won't download new episodes. I'd have to go to the iTunes store, check for a new episode and download manually. I tried redownloading and deleteing episodes and they still stay on the list. With Podcasts that have tons of episodes this is infurating.

Yeah, I have many podcast I subscribed to and I normally scroll down to see the new ones that were downloaded, Now that they are listing the old episodes, Its a lot more scrolling to find the other podcasts that were downloaded.

It's even worse. I thought that as a workaround maybe I could re-download the old episodes and then delete them. But when I do, the "deleted" episode just goes back to showing as available to download. So basically it seems like whatever episodes are listed as being available will be shown, whether or not you've already listened to them -- with no way to hide the ones you're not interested in or the ones you've already heard.

I LIVE on podcasts, and I have a lot of them. This thing just makes the list unusable...

They have to fix this ASAP. I just googled it and this thread is the first search result.

I agree that it's not exactly the best solution and may be an oversight. But in order to delete a podcast from the Podcast List page you can either go to a Smart Playlist or a Playlist and delete the podcast(s) from there just like you have always done and they will be deleted from the list. I hope that this helps all of you out.

I always list the podcasts in list view so I can easily scroll through all the downloaded ones. the fact old episodes are being listed, It just makes the scrolling much worst, Scrolling through hundreds of listing of old episodes just to get to the other podcasts you downloaded, Sometimes you might over shoot it and have to scroll back up because there is just too many listings of old episodes.
