Hey guys! I found a little solution. It's not the prettiest but it does work. What I did was get a picture in my camera roll. And with one hand I pinched it so it's pretty much zooming out. And as I was holding the picture there. I used my other hand and screenshoted it. Since the picture was "further" away when I zoomed it out the picture seemed to fit better when I was setting it as a wallpaper. If you adjust it properly you might only see a little white but it shouldn't be that bad.

This is what I did and it worked fine. It's more of a loophole because the way the wallpaper paper thing is set up is completely stupid. Since the picture gets blown up when you try to make it a wallpaper, I went to photos and clicked edit for the picture I wanted, I then pinched it so the picture was really small, then screenshotted it. Finally I got my picture to fit. It shouldn't be that hard to get a wallpaper, apple !!

Gosh I know right? -.- There's so many problems they haven't fixed.. They only find **** alternatives to the problem they don't actually FIX the issue and PREVENT it. It's so frustrating.

Here's what I came across if nobody has said this already. Excuse me for not going through all 54 pages of responses but I wanted to share just in case... If you have an image that is 1600x1200, 1024x768, or whatever the size is.. make it a 1 to 1 ratio for your wallpaper. So if you have a 1600x1200; edit the canvas in your favoritie image editing software tool (photoshop), that allows you to expand the canvas and make it 1600x1600. Always expand your canvas to the largest size of your image. This will help with accidentally cropping your wallpaper. Once you save the wallpaper file, add it back to your iPad or iPhone and this WILL fix the problem. No need for screen snags on the device that you have.

    This works for me!

I saw this elsewhere, not sure if it's in one of the 54 pages here though.....

Go to the photo you want to use (in camera roll), tap it to open, tap on the white background, which then turns black, take a screenshot (which saves to camera roll), open the screenshot and hey presto!

I thought i'd share as it's a good solution for me.

    World peace.

There is a workaround for this issue.

You can take a screen shot of the iamge that you want to set as a wallpaper and then select the screenshot for your wallapaper......

Try it out it will work..

The latest version of InstaFix 3.0.1 no longer resizes my wallpapers properly for my IPad. Very frustrating.  I wish I never clicked that darn update button in App Store.  I would love to revert to the previous version 2.7.1  which worked fine for me, but wouldn't have a clue how to do it.  I know I can do all the resizing of wallpapers and getting the ratios of length and width right in Photoshop but frankly I simply can no longer be bothered.  This wallpaper issue has gone on long enough and it is well over time for Apple to fix it.

The reason iOS 7 zooms the wallpaper as you set it is because the wallpaper has to be set for parallax. This means that iOS 7 is forcing the wallpaper to fit outside the iPad/iPhone screen.

You can turn this thing off by going to Settings → General → Accessibility → Reduce Motion → and turning ON the Reduce Motion switch.

I did this and now my wallpapers work fine, I no longer had to try and SS a smaller version of the picture.

I tried the accessibility route and it worked perfectly...no faffing around taking screenshots etc so thanks for posting! I've had nothing but trouble with this phone despite only buying it about 4 weeks ago so I'm glad I don't have to go back to the apple store for the 4th time since I've had this phone!!!

    Aaaaaaand 7.1 breaks it.

Updated to 7.1 and it massively zooms all wallpapers despite reduce motion set to on.

Well... At least five finger gestures don't hang on the iPad anymore like it did on 7.0.x

Thanks SO much for your comment. It was perfect before the 7.1 update that was supposed to FIX this issue, btw. It's hard to believe that Apple can be so cutting edge on so many things, but appear to be totally stymied by what seems to be a minour issue.

    EASY SOLUTIION!

Camera Roll > Select the photo > Click on the image (so no excess information is displayed - such as the photo number, delete icon etc.) > Screenshot the image (by pressing the home and lock keys at the same time) > Find the new screenshotted image as your last photo in camera roll > Set that image as your wall paper.

    Solves the problem!

    How about this idea?

Camera roll>select image>set image as background ... The operating system automatically jumps through all the hoops (instead of us all having to manually do it) then saves the image to the background.

You know, like it use to work in IOS 6.

Several third party apps have figured this out, but apparently it's too tough for the folks at apple.

It really is hard to believe apple hasn't fixed this.

Okay guys, posting on here alone is not going to change the problem. We ALL need to go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and log in the complaints we have as many times as possible, and get as many people as we can to do the same thing. Apple does not read the things in this forum, they only read what is posted in the feedbacks. Apple claims to be all about pleasing their customers and giving the users what they want, well they are missing that mark big time. So lets all go throw so much feedback at them that they have to listen to us!
