For whatever reason I can't edit my post... So... I did find this perspective zoom on my iPad, it does stop it from zooming in if the picture is too wide, but if the picture is too tall, and not wide enough, it will still zoom in to stretch the width of the picture to the sides... I want NO zoom apple, you *****.

  • frustrated-js Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Your's right Softall_JJ. I'm seeing the same thing, and I want exactly what you suggest - NO ZOOM.

I can pinch & zoom and move the pic to the position I want, but as soon as I let go, it auto-zooms again! None of the suggested fixes work - None.

What's even more frustrating is that even if you take a picture with the Pad, you can't set the wallpaper to be that picture, unzoomed! Somebody somewhere in Apple really wasn't thinking when they did this.

I've held out, quitely hoping Apple would respond to all posts and fix it in 7.1, but it seems to be worse, not better, so no I'm giving up. Apple clearly isn't listening to the user community. Sad.

I used to think Apple was different, but I guess I was wrong. Apple has completely ignored the customer. Guess they've gotten too big for their britches. Reminicant of Microsoft.

Maybe Google will fix it. :-)

Same for me. It does not matter what resolution the image I chose actually is, when set as a wallpaper it zooms in. All I see is roughly the central 25% of the image. Pants.

EXACTLY!  Which is why I will no longer be purchasing Apple products.  Evidently, they are selling so many of their products that they don't care about those of us who leave.  I was going to get a new iPhone this summer when my contract is up, but I LOVE my Galaxy phone, so I will just get the new Galaxy instead.  I will prob be getting rid of my four other Apple products and going to other devices.  On my Galaxy and my home PC, I can do anything I want to my photos, and in addition, they do not change the entire look of my icons and screens in updates, making it harder for me to locate icons and slowing down the functionality for me.  My screen on my other devices is also easier to read, it doesn't make me feel like I'm squinting at the brightness.  The fixes they have attempted so far are not adequate, and they have not listened to their customers.  I have only updated my iPad, and have not yet done it for my other devices or my computer - despite the danger of not updating the security.   I agree with all of you - this desktop photo zooming issue should have been an immediate fix.  Lame.  Yes, even young people like skeumorphism!  Get over yourselves.  Not everyone who purchases your products is 13 years old.  There are many creative people who chose your products based on what they looked like and how they functioned.  You have now taken that away from us.  I have spent thousands of dollars on your products, and now you have changed the value of those products to me.  This is not acceptable.  Yes, I have already called, written letters, spoken to customer service reps, etc.  So please don't suggest that.  I have tried all of your "fixes" and apps - THEY DON'T WORK FOR ALL OF US!!!!  Should I have to purchase an app to perform a simple funcion that takes seconds to do on my PC and android systems?  NO!  I SHOULD NOT!  My original purchase was for a device that could do that and more, easily.  I feel as though I have been cheated, FORCED into using a sub-standard operating system that I DID NOT PURCHASE!

When I wrote: "EXACTLY!" - it was to "Frustrated-js" and Softtail_JJ.......

Wa-hey! You go WendyOB! You've pretty much summed up the frustration in the last fifty-odd(!) pages of this forum. I actually consider myself quite lucky, as I do not have a phone of any description, wouldn't use a Mac PC to save my life, and don't rely on my iPad. But what sort of service provider utterly fails to respond to the deluge of criticism they've clearly had over this issue? Short answer- one that no longer cares.

I'll stick with the device, but I'll be d@mned if I'll download 7.1...

Haven't commented since the early pages, but I have to say, I have and ipad 2 and iphone 5 and nothing has worked for me.

There have been many suggestions and while they may work on your ipad or phone they don't on mine.

There should be no need for an app, I was happy with the lock screens and backgrounds I had prior to update so, this summed it up perfectly for me.............

    Take a bow Wendy

My sentiments exactly. I have always loved and used Apple products but lately, I have had it with them !! Well said, Wendy !

  • JYTL Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

    Absolutely agree!

  • Softtail_JJ Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

Very well said Wendy, my plan this Fall was to buy the iPhone 6 and the new iPad, if they were being released that is... And I was thinking about buying a new iMac as well, but there is no way I will be purchasing anything until this problem and many other issues are finally addressed. If by the fall in 2015 apple is still not listening to us consumers and fixing issues I will be done with them, I think I am being TOO generous giving it that much time, and to think I once thought I would never buy anything but an apple product again. They are turning into Microsoft...

One thing that totally amazes me about the full thing, is why Apple allowed such a fundamental change to wallpapers and lock screen images for such a pathetic enhancement. Perhaps we could have lived with it had we been presented with a wondeful new feature, but the new screens and icons are no better in fact they are worse than what was the status quo previously. And to then allow this to fester for so long is unforgiveable. Like others I was an apple man for the past five years or so, but when my contract expires in the autumn it will be bye bye apple. **** poor.

This worked for me. Set your wallpaper while holding the ipad in portrait position. (I had perspective zoom off, not sure if this matters or not). Then when you rotate back to landscape it worked. Still have the annoying grey bar at the base.

I just want to add to this rant fest in the unlikely event that anyone at APPL cares. Updated my ipad today to ios 7.x....BIG mistake. Deleted all but 56 of my 3,800 songs, at least half APPL purchases. I HATE the ugly new Telletubby colors. The spam icons set as favorites on Safari...cute. BUT, this Wallpaper fiasco takes the cake for arrogant boobery. Wallpaper worked one-clik on fing Windows 95. And these APPL clowns not only broke it, shipped it, but then could look at this flaming here for the past seven months and STILL not fix it. I'm NEVER buying another APPL product.

I can add that if Apple is going to treat their customers like this.... by not listening to their true customer-base that has supported them thru the hard times, you will see Apple standing out in the cold soon. The customers will abandon them just like Apple has abandoned this post. Samsung has taken the lead in my opinion. I own the iPhone 5, iPad Mini, iMac, ect. I also own a Samsung Galaxy S4. I am going to use my iPad still but I am going to go out and purchase the new Galaxy Tab Pro. This device is more tailored to by business. Apple wants to control their devices and not allowing customers to customize the devices to enhance the customers experience. I am finally starting to see great products from other companies so Apple really needs to step up their game. Let's hope they deliver. All I can say is that the proof is in the pudding... check out the stocks... they will tell the story.

I tried this but it seemed to only work on portrait.  I use landscape on my iPad home/lock pages and I'm SO annoyed that I can't use all my photos anymore.  Even with zoom and motion off .  Am I wrong about Wallax? I did not see setting for landscape.  Thanks.
