No Sound after update to ios7

I don't know, do you?

I do have sound and everything else but my sound is REALLY bad its kinda "rosty" sounding and its not nice at all.

I have the same problem. I can toggle the mute/unmute 'rocker' no problem and see that I'm muted or non-muted.

And while Siri and phone calls work fine - nothing else has sound. No music, no alerts, no key presses/clicks, when typing, no chimes when I get SMS, no nothing.

I can go into Settings > Sound and slide the Ringer volume up/down - and that works just fine (i.e., I can hear it).

But if i go to pick a different alert setting for the alerts, I can pick whatever I want and vibrations work - but there's absolutely no sound.

I've also restarted my iPhone (4S).

So. Somehow I got it working again. It was either:

a) setting up an alarm (it happened to be with Due App - not the built in alarm/clock - but I'm guessing that might do the same thing)

or

b) getting Messages to stop sending to both my phone and my wife's phone at the same time (we're sharing the same apple ID).

At the point that I changed both of those... and when the timer went off... all of a sudden all clicks, alerts, apps/etc started working again.

This was fixed on my phone just by opening up Calendar app.

I guess I did one other thing... Open calendar.. and click the + to add a new entry.

Let me know if that works.

I have exactly the same problem. Solutions posted in this thread, so far, does NOT work.

That is a bug on charing USB port when you updating iOS via USB port. Just pluging your iPhone to another docking and then will be working fine.

UPDATE: When I use the headphone it works just fine. (i.e. external sound device). As soon as I remove it, sound doesn't work.

I had the same problem. I have been using a "non-apple" usb charger. I just went out to my car, plugged my iphone 4S into my Apple USB cable and that fixed the problem. I now have all of my sounds back. Perhaps Apple engineered the bug to sell more USB cables? 😉

I have same problem of no sound at all and cannot talk or hear phone and I cannot fix it from suggestions here. I may have to try a restore in iTunes on my PC, happy days.

Well, I spoke too soon. The fix I mentioned worked for a few minutes. However, after locking the iphone and then unlocking it, the sound problem came back. So, I'm still looking for a permanent fix.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 5 no sound on anything and the video is not working

Same here, the Airplay works, headphones work but the sound doesnt come from the iPhone 5 speakers. Which means no voice talk, no music play and no video play. But I tried to restart it after killing all apps and it started working OK. Surely looks like an iOS7 bug.

I have upgraded twice. Both times I have no sound. The last time Verizon made me use my insurance to fix the phone. I have had it!!! I contacted apple twice with no solutions and now my phone is not even showing up in Itunes. My relationship with Apple is over. It is time to be done. Move to another phone they obviously do not care bout thier users of older phones. I was blown off by Apple support. Show your disatisfaction with BS by moving to anyone but APPLE. I have a mac pro and will be going back to Windows and moving to a Drioid. This is worse than the 90s with Windows. If they can convert me then they really do not care. Move on people! Teach this lackluster company that has fallen a lesson! Do Not Expect Help!!!
