cannot delete podcasts

I cannot delete old podcasts from list. I tried right clicking an episode, and the delete option is missing in I1.1 Itunes.I don't want to remove a current podcast, just older ones. Can anyone help? Thank-you.

I have the same problem after updating to iTunes 11.1.

What appears to be happening is that the program is displaying all available episodes for podcasts for each subscription.

If you have one that is downloaded, you can delete it by pressing the DEL button. This doesn't work for the available, non-downloaded episodes. Prior to 11.1 you could just select them and press the delete button.

I haven't figured out a way to do that in 11.1 or not show them.

Same problem here. Episodes remain listed but with an icon to download. Only way to remove the list of non-downloaded episodes is to Unsubscribe from the Podcast. But if I do that, iTunes won't download new episodes. I'd have to go to the iTunes store, check for a new episode and download manually. I tried redownloading and deleteing episodes and they still stay on the list. With Podcasts that have tons of episodes this is infurating.

I'm also having this exact problem.

A load of old podcasts that I have previously downloaded, listened to and since deleted (some dating back several years) have reappeared with a 'cloud download' button next to them but it is not possible to delete them; i.e. make them disappear /invisible again.

My podcast library is now a mess!

Everyone who is experienceing this should let Apple know via the feedback section

I agree. This is a disaster--yet another takeaway of a feature that quietly worked perfectly for years. I would suggest everyone get over to the feedback page and let them know how you feel about this. Go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

Meanwhile, I guess I am going to be looking for an alternative. Apple went down the road af trashing their Podcasts app years ago and I suspect we are witnesses to a grand scheme that makes sense only to small cadre at Apple who cannot see the forest for the trees.

It seems like iTunes Podcast delivery and accounting has really slipped the last few releases. Back in version 7 or 8 I was able to get everything done that I wanted to in two or three easy clicks.

Now, I find myself having to click into different views and categories and such to do things I used to be able to do from the front screens.

I just uploaded to v11.1 (126) and IOS7 on my iPhone. And the first thing I noticed when I clicked into Podcasts and selected List was a *ton* of old, previously-listened-to podcasts, each with handsome little cloud-with-a-download-arrow icon, after the podcast name, before the Time column.

I could not simply select the listened-to podcast and Delete it, as before. But, I could play a podcast and then Delete it. So, okay, I guess… it was only 392 items, and 9:05:13:51 total time ( 7.26 GB ). I played a couple and it was nice to relive those thrilling days of last week and last month a couple of years ago. But after I deleted the podcasts, they o n c e a g a i n appeared in List view!

I tried un-checking the little box before the Name, but that didn't help.
