Ok guys I got my iphone 5 to work now! I tried the network reset multiple times but it didnt work. I was also having trouble with my itunes not reading my iphone when I plugged it in. So I restarted my computer and then I plugged in my iphone and it finally read it. Then I selected the restore option on itunes. Once, that was completed. It works like a charm! Good luck

I found a fix that worked for me.. I also had this problem with both not activating.. It's not a server issue.. It's a download issue.. What I had to do is go into settings and erase all contents and settings.. When you do this it will ask you to turn off find my iphone.. Do so.. Than as it's resetting it will than ask you to restore with options.. Choose restore from iCloud backup.. Your most recent backup when you knew iMessage and FaceTime were working.. Than after the reset is done.. Enter in your username and password for iCloud and voila.. Everything will work once again
