The sure thing that worked with me is to go:

    settings>general>reset>reset network settings

One minute after the phone is back, both iMessage and Facetime were verified and working

I had the same problem. I tried many solutions, including research online and calling apple support. Here's the only solution. It worked for me.

Back up your phone to your computer or cloud.

Go to "settings" > "general" > "reset" > "Erase all content and settings".

This wipes clear all your data and settings, which is why you backed it all up.

Then plug the phone into the computer/itunes, and follow the prompts to restore your phone.

It takes awhile, but it solves the problem.

    Good luck!

Well hvg lost both iMessage & FT since update,I've researched everywhere tried so many suggestions, did the full on restore etc which got FT back but no iMessage despite trying everything...infact I lost FT again whilst trying the network reset as suggested. So this is going to sound weird but it just worked!! I was getting frustrated after spending last three days on this issue,I ended up pressing lock & hm button forcing a shutdown on the phone.....& hey presto turned it on & it's all working just like that. No idea how or why but it worked.

I am having the same issue and your screen shot looks just like mine. I have tried many recommendations without luck. Trying to aviod resetting the whole phone on itunes because I am not sure that will work either. One would think Apple would be letting us know there is an issue and working on a fix.

I resetted the whole phone trough itunes and worked for me, although you have to download all applications again as well as  your music. Be sure your applications provide a place for back up so you dont loose any information quen reloading.

    Good luck

The iPad must be different from the iPhone because when I go to settings and then message or FaceTime I get a sign in screen there is no option to turn SMS on or off. When I sign in I get a "iMessage activation could not sign in check connection and try again" It won't accept my username and password. I also get "sign in to iTunes to get push notifications" in every app some of the time it locks my iPad up and I have to turn it completely off.  I hesitate to hook it to my computer for backup because it's a piece of junk computer and I doubt there is enough storage space to hold everything....the 5 gigs free that i get in the cloud doesn't come close.  I've doe the network resetting and everything....this makes me crazy!!!!

I have the iphone 5C and my iMessages have been manfunctioning. The message will say "sending.. 1 of 1" but the message never sends, although I still receive iMessages. When I turned my phone off and back on again, went to settings > messages > turn "iMessages" off and then back on (and wait until iMessage activates), then go back to my messages and resend, it worked for me. But I have had to do this process twice in the last 24 hours.

iPhone 5S here. Had iMessage problems now for 3 days going on 4. Pretty annoying.

I also get the "Sign into ITunes for Push Notifcations" I go to ITunes and cannot find how to get this to stop.

I've not been able to send imessage ever since installing iOS 7 a week ago. Tried every recommended solution. Apple store said only option is to backup and full restore. Going to try that tonight and see what happens. Pretty disappointed that these things aren't tested before release. Its not up to the users to find issues!

Try a hard reset. It just this second worked for me. Boy am I glad. I hate not having perfectly working apple products.

This is driving me crazy, it's very frustrating, I've been struggling with this for days now.
I have an iPhone 4s and I had this problem back in iOS 6 and it got activated by chance, it just wouldn't activate until someday I put some proxy that got it activated, and it was that exact proxy that got it to work, no other proxies worked, I know this because my friends had this problem too and when I told them to use that proxy it worked.

When I upgraded to iOS 7 OTA it got activated, then by mistake it got deactivated (I changed my Apple ID's password and that got iMessage and FaceTime to need reactivation), and since then it's not coming back, I tried every single solution I could find in the internet (resetting network settings, activating over cellular data, deactivating my iPhone using redsn0w and reactivating it, tried countless proxies, a hard reset, date and time are set automatically) nothing worked, I even did a full restore via iTunes to iOS 7.0.2 (and by the way that got the iPhone 4s to perform a lot better than the OTA upgrade) but still no iMessage nor FaceTime, I did this twice, the first time I recoverd the iPhone from a backup, and in the second time I set it up as a new iPhone, neither one worked.

One thing I noticed is that no hidden messages are being sent nor recieved now, but when I had this problem before it was sending the messages but it wasn't working. Is there any significance to that?

Any other suggestions that are not on the internet yet?

I really hope this issue gets fixed very soon, Apple needs to address this issue and fix it for good.
