VNC client that does scaling

My server runs TightVNC with a resolution of 1600x1200. On Windows my tightvnc client lets me scale it down to fit on my screen. The only VNC client for mac os that I know of is Chicken of VNC, but it doesn't do scaling. Anyone know of one?

What about Apple Remote Desktop.. does it include a client that does scaling? I heard it was compatible with VNC's of all flavours.

MacBook (white), 2.0 GHz, 2GB RAM, 60GB HD, Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Apple's Remote Desktop does, indeed, support window scaling. You can make your viewing window any size you like and either pan/zoom within that window, or scale the remote screen to fit. It also has a full screen option that hides the menu bar and dock, giving you maximum flexibility.

There are other VNC clients around, but since I have ARD I've never had to use any of them.

Can you buy the client on it's own or do you have to buy the full ARD package to get it? I only have use for the client. Also is it universal now to run on my macbook? Thanks.

The client is not available on its own. You'll probably want to look for an alternative option, as a 10-client license for ARD will run you about $300.
