Q: Can I change my iCloud email in iOS 7?

I just installed iOS 7 on my iPhone 5. My iCloud account used to be linked to an old email address, I had changed it to the new email address long before updating to iOS 7 and everything worked great. Now on iOS 7, it's displaying the old email for whatever reason, which I obviously can't use to log in anymore. I also can't seem to type in my current email.

Is there any way to get around this?

eghbal you do not hat to turn off find my iphone.

Open the app "find my iphone" and log out from the app pushing the button "exit" or something like that (it is the button top on the right).

Ive tried this but it doesn't seem to work as the app and find my phone in icloud appear to be seperate things. still requires password to none existant icloud ID to delete the account.

change your apple id from appleid.apple.com to your ex old apple id then login to your icloud with your ex apple id and turn off your find my iphone and then delete your icloud account with ex apple id then go back and change your apple id as your new apple id form appleid.apple.com and then sync icloud log in with your new apple id email

Will Apple support reply to my request to delete my old icloud email?  The "Find My Phone" problem is holding me up from deleting the old email from my iCloud.

i changed from hotmail to gmail, icloud is still listing the hotmail as my apple id even though everywhere else (except fmp) is listed as gmail. i have my gmail merged with hotmail and it hasn't sent me a verfication that i can  change my password. so its not even a question of not having access to your old email address...

Hello All, I just got off the phone with Apple support and they are recommending delete the old account reflected / inherited to iCloud in the iOS7 upgrade.

Go to==> settings-> mail, contacts, and calendar  * delete your old email account from there.

When I asked, attempting logging off from the "Find My Phone" app first, the response was that "Find My Phone" is inside the iCloud making it seem that it was something of a dependency to delete the iCloud account first.

Just tried it that way. Even that eay it still requires a password to turn off the find my phone before you can delete the account.

I'm having the same issues. After updating to IOS7 my icloud account has reverted back to an old email address. This is my old work email which I haven't had access to for over a year. I need to turn off find iphone in the Icloud settings in order to complete a full back-up but obviously can't get access to this as it needs the old password which is now obsolete. It's so frustrating! Fair play, they're trying to make the phone more secure but it would be helpful if there was a little bit of leeway during the transition. Can't even talk to the support team without paying £25.00 so if anyone has any additional info it would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, old email, password didn't work, unable to reset it (email account no longer exists) can't delete without password, security info failed.

    This is how I fixed it using a backup made before the ios7 upgrade;

    1) Reset phone and delete all content

    2) Make sure latest iTunes is installed

    3) When phone reboots after reset, don't do anything, connect USB to iTunes

    4) iTunes should recognise the phone and ask if its a new phone or restore from backup, select restore.

    5) after restore phone will reboot to the "hello screen", it will ask you for your iCloud password, but again it will show the wrong email, don't attempt a password, just hit skip, your back to your home screen.

    6) go to settings, iCloud, although the email will still be incorrect, you can now delete the account without being asked for a password, I deleted the account and data from my phone (all my contacts and stuff is stored in iCloud, I took the risk that it would restore it afterwards).

    7) Set up an iCloud account with the correct email.

    worked for me.

I can't remember if it asked for a password when I deleted the account, if it did it accepted the password associated with the correct email account, even though the email shown was try old one.

After hours of Googling solutions, calling Apple Support and getting NO help, this was the only solution that worked. THANK YOU!
