I just updated Xcode to 5.0 and now, when I try to download the command line tools, I get an error message that my userid does not have access to the command line tools. I looks like maybe a password problem, but my userid and password work everywhere else an AppleID works. Any idea what's going on?
Same here - This happened before with Xcode 4.X and AAPL had to fix something....my guess is a URL has changed or smething.
And the manual download of the command line tools causes problems with Brew....sigh
Same here. Looks like new Command Line Tools are not available at this moment; the most recent version in Developer Downloads dates from April 2013!

Hopefully this is just a temporary glitch and it doesn't mean that the Command line tools now require a paid developer account!

Xcode5 is only out of beta for iOS. Otherwise, it is still part of the Mavericks beta. That is likely why you are getting that error result. I am sure this will be straighted out when Mavericks is released. Until then, Xcode5 is only for app development with no command line tools or Brew supported.
etresoft, does this mean if we need the CLT for Brew that we have to reinstall the previous version of xcode over xcode 5? Also, does the "order of operations" matter here? e.g. Uninstall Xcode 5 completely, *then* reinstall? Sorry, I'm pretty new to development here. Thanks for your help! 🙂
The Maverick bit would make sense if it didn't say "Mountain Lion" on the file name...
Here are the steps:
1. Delete Xcode 5
2. Install Xcode 4 and use "Preferences" to install command line tools, or download the command line tools only and install directly from the DMG. The URL is http://developer.apple.com/downloads
I think it's solved: finally manage to downloaded and installed the "Command Line Tools". 🙂
Just tried installing again and it's downloading. Perhaps the problem is fixed! I'll post again if this installation fails.

Nonsense. Xcode 5 is now available through the App Store, and the command line tools are finally downloading after some hours of problems.
Looks like they figured out this was not a good idea. Just reinstalled Xcode 5 and this time the Command line tools installed no problems.
