Unmount/Disconnect after Sync taking a "long" time

The ipod is taking nearly a minute to get into a "ready" state after it finishes syncing. I have it to Automatically update all playlists. Enable disk use is turned off. Ive had 3 ipods that take this long. Is this normal? Is it just that the 60gb hard drive takes a minute...I previously had a 4gb mini and it would disconnect almost immediately. The 5g has the latest firmware. Havent done a restore on it yet.
