So I was updating my boyfriend's iPAD and while updating it stopped and gave me a typical error message but with error 4013. It worked fine before and is now stuck in the "connect to itunes mode" recovery mode. I have tried updating and no luck. I have even tried updating in DFU mode and no luck. Anyone git any solutions?

May want to give it 24hrs or so before you try to troubleshoot this. As slammed as the download and activation servers are right now, it's hard to separate out what is a server issue and what may be an install issue. I'd try doing a full restore tomorrow, and if it's still acting up, come back and we'll see if we can figure it out.

Same here! but with an iPhone 4S 16GB!! its stock on "waiting for iphone" and when its out of there, its giving an itunes error #4013 or 4005... PLEASE HELP!

i got the same error updating my iphone 4s
I got the same error. I was useing the powerskin and updating while my phone was plugged into it. I removed the powerskin and used the cord that came with my phone and plugged it into the computer and restored my phone through that. Now the update is working .
All Apple servers are undergoing a huge number of hits. I think tomorrow or even the next day, all upgrade and activation servers will be in much better shape.
I know this is a pain . . .

i was having the same problem with error 4013..but i it was solved when i used the original cable of my iphone 4s..it works just fine..hope it help
i had the same error message when updating my iPhone5. solved - you should use the original cable for udpate.
I faced the same issue with my iPhone 4S, got resolved by using original iPhone cable. After that I got error 3014, which got resolved after changing my internet conection. (May be previous interet connection was blocking gs.apple.com on port 80 or 443).

Ok Frd coming back to say i solved my 4013 🙂
My iphone had 300Mb free space .
I moved 3Gb photos to my computer in order to get 3/3.5Gb free space on my iPhone 4s
Tried again......... Et Voila

I can't change anything on my phone, all I get is the option to restore and then it won't complete, giving 4013 as the reason...
Mine is doing the same thing with the ipad. Even if I use the original cable! It *****.
