Delete custom labels in iOS7?

I downloaded the app and couldn't figure out a way to delete the labels within the app. I went to a contact and the label wasn't there. Am I missing something? And thank you for being as OCD as the rest of us.

I couldn't find it at first either, I thought the custom label option appeared when you select "custom field", but apparently not. If you go to add a second phone number, then tap the "home" label, you should find them at the bottom of the list.

It's the same as the way to do it in the old ios.

Go to a contact. Any contact.

Select edit. (Top right button.)

Select any option to change a field. (For example, if the contact's phone number has a "cell" or "home" or "iPhone" next to it, press that word.)

The labels will be at the bottom. To delete them, press the edit button. (Top right button.)

SamDorios, if I follow your steps, I do not get an edit button. There is only a done button.

Did you see the part earlier in the discussion about doing this in the MagicJack app? Sorry if I didn't re-mention that in the steps post.

MagicJack is a stupid free app you'll never use, but can easily delete after you're done with it. You gotta download it and do the steps within that app.

How did you fix it using WhatsApp?

To delete custom labels using WhatsApp Messenger, do the following:

1. Open the "contacts" tab.
2. Tap the add ("+") button.
3. Tap the label section of the "phone" field.
4. Tap "edit".
5. For each custom label you want to delete, tap the remove ("−") button next to it and then tap "delete".

Holy crap I could KISS YOU RIGHT NOW!!!!

This fix solved the problem for me. I have a iPhone 4 running iOS 7.0.4. I initially tried using the Whatsapp messaging app in order to fix this and did not find an edit button in the contacts. I used the MagicJack app and had it fixed in less than ten minutes.

I don't think it's possible to delete custom labels using WhatsApp Messenger anymore because it has been updated for iOS 7. 😟

WhatsApp Messenger has been updated for iOS 7 and no longer can delete Custom Labels in Contacts on an iPhone. MagicJack Free (MJF) can still, however, provide a method of deleting labels on an iPhone. 😎

BTW, you can install MJF on an iPad WiFi in order to delete labels that appear within iPad's Contacts. 😀 (I was surprised to see that the Contacts' custom labels list was a bit different on my iPad as compared to my iPhone. 😮)
