WhatsApp Messenger has been updated for iOS 7 and no longer can delete Custom Labels in Contacts on an iPhone. MagicJack Free (MJF) can still, however, provide a method of deleting labels on an iPhone.

BTW, you can install MJF on an iPad WiFi in order to delete labels that appear within iPad's Contacts.   (I was surprised to see that the Contacts' custom labels list was a bit different on my iPad as compared to my iPhone. )

iContactsPro solved this for me. "edit" option appears on top right when viewing custom labels.

In the past few months I've been to 4 Apple stores in different states.  No one was able to delete Custom Labels. Actually 3 stores thought the IOS6 delete still worked. The fourth store told me to contact Apple support and request this feature.  Now I can get a good nights sleep ;-).  Thanks

It's still possible to do it with... Viber because they haven't upgraded to iOS 7. In general, you can perform the same tricks on any apps which 1) not yet upgraded to iOS 7 and 2) got access to your Contacts.

Do it now before they all are forced to upgrade to iOS 7.

    Cheers

I can't find the magic jack app

If it helps I'm an Aussie, perhaps it's not available in my App Store

Magic Jack app doesn't seem to offer a "fix" anymore. Can't find the edit feature for the labels.

I called Apple Support, and after they researched it, they said it was not possible.  I'm glad to hear that it really IS possible.

iContacts+ works perfectly. Very easy to use. No need to create an account like Magic Jack.

There are a lot of programs with similar names!  i found that "iContactsPro +" and "iContacts +" both worked well for this, while iContacts Plus was a horrendous progam that tries to get you to sign on to FaceBook every time you open it, and didn't seem to be able to delete Custom Contacts or do anything useful except try to sell you inapp additonal modules.

I never did find the iContactsPro (without the + sign after it) that ravikapoor originally spoke of, but both the ones I mention work great for this.

I downloaded the "iContacts Pro +", that Dave said to do and it worked perfectly.  It was pretty simple and then I deleted the app when I was done.  Thanks Dave!

I noticed after purchasing iContactPro + however, that all the reviews said that people hated it, and at least one... I think more... claimed that it trashed their contacts in iCloud!  Even worse, if you click on the link for Support in the iTunes Store information about this program, you are taken to a web page in Chinese, which means for  those of us who don't read Chinese that there us no support.

I deleted this program from all my devices after that.

iContacts + however seems trouble free... no bad reviews anyway... and also can delete unwanted Custom Contacts, so I left that one installed at least for now.

iContacts+ worked like a charm, no more worries about the Custom Labels...
