Nov 11, 2013 10:10 PM in response to splash104by JimboLee11,★HelpfulHi Guys!
So i plugged my ipad into my lap top. All i was trying to do was transfer some pictures. Yet it directed me to i tunes. With in minutes, i was following directions on how to update & restore & get the latest version of ios 7.03.2 or something like that.
Now it didnt work & it didnt work a few days ago when i had tried it on just the i pad alone either. But I thought that maybe since i was hooked up through a bigger system it would work.
Nope but thats ok, because i didnt really want to do that, too begin with. Anyways after a few buttons clicked & i ok'd a few go aheads, my i pad screen went blank & then popped up this, " Connect to I tunes logo " It has a picture of my plug, with an arrow pointing it to the i tunes logo!!!!!
What the F_ _ _ ???? Now my system is stuck. It wont do anything else. Ive tried holding the main power button down for long periods of time. Ive tried holding everything down at the same time. I've tried plugging it back into a power source. Nothing is working. It will turn all the way off & the logo plug thing goes off with it.
But when i turn it back on, it just comes right back to the same screen " CONNECT TO I TUNES " SCREEN. Please help me!!!!! What the **** do i do? Does my i pad have a virus or something now? Am I screwed?

Nov 12, 2013 12:08 PM in response to splash104by Cooler044,I`ve just solved the problem by simply connecting the iPhone through another USB port. I tried to use a hub in my monitor (silly me)... Just plugged it directly to the motherboards USB and all`s OK.

Nov 15, 2013 3:04 PM in response to splash104by Elguap0man,I found the solution. The trick is to plug it into any apple computer (directly of course; not into the monitor, but into the actual computer) running the latest version of iTunes. The computer will detect the phone even if your windows computer doesn't and will download an update (for me, it downloaded 6.1.4, even though the update was for 7.0.4). However, once the download completes, it will say that it could not install the update and the phone simply returns to working normally, and nothing is lost. Again, the phone completely returns to normal operation. If you really want to download this update, either do it from an apple computer, or just do it using wifi.

Nov 21, 2013 6:45 AM in response to Jennyrennyby Jennyrenny,Thank you.
I read in another discussion thread that reseting was the only way to fix. I reset and was lucky that the phone did sync prior to going into recovery - I was able to get all my content back, but so far my APPS aren't working Likely will have to delete and redownload.
This issue so far equates to 2 hours of my life I'd like back.

Nov 24, 2013 4:03 PM in response to splash104by kittycatcrisper,I am having the same 4005 error issues.
My ipad screen was cracked from my kids dropping it and banging it against thier head. I don't have alot of money and haven't had the money to replace the screen. So my son opened some koolaid and a little got into the cracks and of course he didn't tell me and then he plugged the ipad in and boom tons of issues and then the ipad shut down, so I let the battery go dead. I plugged it in the next day and it charged but I was only getting the apple on a black screen. So I went online and did some research and found out how to put it in recovery. But now I am getting the 4005 error. I have tried putting the cord in different usb ports but still get the same error. My MIL has an apple computer so I might take some of the suggestions and go plug it in her computer. I am so frustrated, the ipad charges, the computer recognizes it, the touch screen works still, but I can't get it beyond 4005 and I can't afford to buy another ipad, and the ipads are great for kids with autism which my son has.

Nov 25, 2013 2:32 AM in response to splash104by panicmoonwalkaway, thanks so much apple, i now have to wait four days to see my sister who is the only one who knows anything about this stuff in the family, and im afraid that the stupid little 'connect to itunes' screen will stuff up my phone screen. i really need to get the pictures off of my phone and i dont want to update to ios 7.

Dec 1, 2013 10:34 AM in response to panicmoonwalkawayby mcfly_films,Hi Panicmoonwalkaway,
I just purchased a MacBook Air and wanted to be certain all my applications were updated, including the OS, before I used the computer. Unfortunately, I had my iPhone plugged in via USB, so when I agreed to all the latest updates, I inadvertently was updating the iOS. This froze my phone into a 'recovery' mode with an icon of the usb cable pointing to 'iTunes' image.
I contacted Apple Care Customer Service, and all told me that the photos/video were unrecoverable, and that they had already been been erased even though I had not yet completed the 'restore phone' process to update the iOS to 7. I requested another more knowledgeable service rep. but they refused to transfer me and cut and pasted the same standard line, "If you didn't backup your data, you cannot recover it." This didn't make sense to me. What did make sense was that although the door and locks to my phone were inaccessible, the content was probably still there. It's a fundamental harddrive concept.
After some trial and error, I found a simple solution, and hopefully this will work for the community out there. This is what I discovered:
(1) Tenorshare iphone data recovery application DID NOT work because the first message that pops up is a request that you type in your four-digit security code (on your phone). For obvious reasons (screen is frozen in the usb to itunes image) this wasn't an option.
(2) I then downloaded Wondershare Dr. Fone for iOS. I have no idea who makese these applications, and it is alway shady business to give these internet companies possible access to your phone, BUT after launching the app. for Mac, and plugging my iPhone into the MacBookAir via USB, there was a message that my phone was not 'NORMAL." After I clicked ok to this message, suddenly my phone came back to life, and I was able to type in my four-digit SECURITY CODE. The iOS was the original, and all my videos and photos were still on the device. I didn't go ahead and scan the phone via Wondersher Dr. Fone because I had no need.
(3) I then connected the iPhone via usb to my old macbook and used PICASA to transfer all my photos and videos from the iPhone. I also backed up all the old iPhoto data with PICASA. I think it's a good idea to backup iPhoto data with another application so that any Apple updates doesn't 'accidentally' delete old libraries.
(4) After this photo/video xfer and backup process, and making sure my contacts/music/tvshows/movies/iOSapps are backed up on the iCloud, I plan to update my iOS.
Let me know if you have any questions.
best, McFly Films
