Mar 12, 2015 6:36 AM in response to gilsonmeloby vibhorfromdelhi,Hi gilsonmelo,
I tried the steps you mentioned above and I am able to save the edited file in iBackupbBot but I am not able to restore backup file as I get a message saying iTunes could not restore the iPhone "XXXX" because not enough free space is available on the iPhone. Now should I manually delete the data or should I try deleting through Find My iPhone or is there any other alternative ? Please suggest
Thank you

Mar 19, 2015 1:20 PM in response to gilsonmeloby Zebsmattz,This works for me - the iBackupBot method
It even let me just restore the one changed file onto the iPhone, rather than have to restore the whole backup
Many thanks for posting it

May 17, 2015 4:00 PM in response to gilsonmeloby mhancock5,Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
I've been trying to figure this out forever, I even went through the long, agonizing process of attempting to fix it through Apple.
I can't believe how simple the solution was. Again, thank you!

Jun 30, 2015 8:22 AM in response to 4Dersonby sre02116,BRILLIANT!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
So here's what worked with my "forgotten" passcode.... I downloaded iBackupBot (free), went to HomeDomain/Library/Preferences/com.apple.restrictionspassword.plist ,
then copy/paste the RestrictionsPasswordKet and the RestrictionsPasswordSalt into the website suggested by 4Derson, and IT FOUND THE PASSCODE! Didn't have to reset or restore, just entered the correct passcode. This only works if there is a non-encrypted backup, as far as I can tell.
There must have been a bug in apple's restrictions passcode feature, because I do not AT ALL recognize the passcode, so in my case the passcode randomly changed itself somehow. Maybe we're not actually going crazy or becoming senile..! (x2 -- I did this for two kids' iPads.)
